Mr. XIE Qiuye Attends the Sixth China-Indonesia Energy Forum

On July 8, the Sixth China-Indonesia Energy Forum was held in Beijing. Mr. Li Fanrong, Deputy Administrator of the National Energy Administration, co-chaired the opening ceremony with Mr. Rita, the Director General of Power Department, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, and delivered a speech. Mr. Xie Qiuye, President of China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI), was invited to attend the meeting.


Li Fanrong pointed out in his speech that the relationship between China and Indonesia are friendly and the cooperation in the field of energy has been continuously deepened and achieved fruitful results in recent years. He called on the two sides to further strengthen policy exchanges, promote practical cooperation on projects, jointly improve energy access and enhance coordinated regional development. Mr. Rita said in his speech that China and Indonesia have a sound basis for cooperation in the energy sector. This forum will promote in-depth communication and build a platform for further strengthening practical cooperation.

 During the keynote speech session, EPPEI introduced the achievements of China's new energy development, new energy integration in China and China's experience, and put forward suggestions for the future China-Indonesia cooperation in the field of new energy.

 It is learned that, China and Indonesia jointly established China-Indonesia Energy Forum mechanism in 2002, which is an important platform for carrying out energy policy communication, project cooperation and technical exchange between the two countries. This Forum includes 2 sessions focusing on electricity & renewable energy and oil, gas & coal. More than 100 participants from the authorities, companies and research institutions of energy area attended the forum and carried on the thorough discussion on the subjects of power technology, new energy development, clean coal utilization and infrastructure construction of oil and gas.

 The Director of Planning and Research Department and staff of International Business Department from EPPEI attended the meeting.
